What changed

What changed downtown

Every fact on this site records the day its value first appeared, not just the day it was last checked. When one moves, it is listed here.

3,577 facts across 245 buildings are watched this way: home counts, years built, story counts, parking, flood zones, zoned schools, walking times, and what Jersey City has approved nearby. A line appears below only when a value actually changed. A record checked and found to say the same thing is not news and is not listed.

How this works

Each fact carries four dates: the day it was first tracked, the day its current value first appeared, the day it was last checked, and the dates of its last ten changes. The refresh scripts compare a new reading against the stored one before writing, so a source that returns the same answer in a different shape, a number as text, the same list in a different order, a reworded note, does not show up here as a change.

Walking and riding times are compared to the nearest whole minute, which is how the pages print them. Routing a walk twice over the same pavement gives slightly different answers, and that is not a change worth telling anyone about.

This record starts on 15 October 2026. Anything that changed before then happened before the site was watching, and is not recoverable. If you know a building's details changed earlier than that, tell us.
